Siemens Moray East and Triton Knoll substations
Siemens Energy’s Offshore Transformer Module®
"MCT Brattberg was able to provide support, advice and suitable product solutions to these exciting but challenging projects."
Siemens Energy selected MCT Brattberg to carry out the works allowing some of the largest cables ever used on offshore substations to be safely sealed, protecting life and asset in the harshest of conditions. Working closely with Siemens Energy’s design team and fabrication partners, MCT Brattberg was able to provide support, advice and suitable product solutions to these exciting but challenging projects.
The Moray East windfarm is situated in the outer Moray Firth in Scotland. 100 wind turbines are expected to generate up to 950 MW of renewable power. Three offshore substations will collect power and transmit it onshore at New Deer in Aberdeenshire where it will be delivered to the national grid, supplying power to nearly one million homes.
Triton Knoll, located approximately 20 miles off the Lincolnshire coast will consist of 90 wind turbines, generating up to 857 MW of renewable energy helping supply power to 800,000 homes. Two offshore substations will collect the power generated and transmit it onshore to Bicker Fen substation near Boston, Lincolnshire.
It is critical these assets are installed and operate, as designed, as efficiently and safely as possible.
